HENDERSON, DONALD A., SR. - age 72, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, July 22, 2002,
of cancer. Born July 19, 1930, in Ashville, Alabama. He was retired from the
United States Air Force and Martin Marietta Energy Systems. He was a member
of Kern Memorial United Methodist Church, Oak Ridge, Masonic Faith Lodge
#756, ORION, and Grand Squares Club of Square Dancers. He is survived by his
wife, Mary R. Henderson of Oak Ridge; children, Donald (Donnie) Henderson,
Jr., Joy Henderson, Emily Newell, all of Oak Ridge and Alan Henderson of
Knoxville; grandchildren, Jonathan Lesher and Mary Newell. Funeral service
will be held in the chapel of Weatherford Mortuary on Wednesday evening at 8
p.m. with Rev. E.C. Vestal officiating. Graveside service will be held at 10
a.m., Thursday at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to The
American Cancer Society, c/o Lee Costanzo, 103 Case Lane, Oak Ridge, TN
37830, or to The American Diabetes Association, Tennessee Affiliate, 4205
Hillsboro Road, Suite 200, Nashville, TN 37215-9805. The family will receive
friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.
NELSON, RAYMOND - age 18, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Tuesday,
July 23, 2002, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. Friends may
call Thursday between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. Funeral service Thursday at 8:00
p.m. in the Chapel of Sharp Funeral Home. Sharp Funeral Home, in Oliver
Springs, Tenn., in charge of arrangements.
PETREY, MRS. OLEN - age 94, of Lancing, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2002,
in the Lifecare Center of Morgan County. She was a faithful member of the
First Baptist Church in Deer Lodge. Mrs. Petrey enjoying quilting and was a
"strawberry Farmer." She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry G.
Petrey; parents, Sam and Etta Dickey; sister, Pearl Horn, and brothers,
Claude and Sam Dickey. She is survived by two sons, Henry Petrey and Gary
Petrey and wife, Linda, all of Lancing; five grandchildren, Melanie Trosper,
Donna Fancher, Tommy Petrey, Larry Petrey, and Valerie Anderson, and seven
great-grandchildren. Special caregiver, daughter-in-law, Rhonda Petrey, and a
host of friends and other relatives. The family will receive friends Thursday
evening, July 25, 2002, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home,
Wartburg. The Funeral Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Pat McGee
officiating. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday morning, 10 a.m. in
Mt. Hope Cemetery.
