There's lots of good programs, some expensive, some very affordable.
There's even some that are free. About.com
(http://genealogy.about.com/cs/softwarefamilytree/) has some reviews of the
main programs available as well as pointers to some free 15/30 day trials,
etc.

I personally use Family Origins from Parsons Technology. It's easy to use,
fairly full-featured and quite affordable. I've used others (PAF and Family
Tree Maker), but came back to this one just because I like it. Others can
chime in with their favorites. The Genealogy Software link at about.com
also has links to Gen software for Macintosh computers if that's what you
need.

Best of luck.
