1. Perry4 Carroll (Calvin3, Drury2, John1) was born 1858 in TN,
and died January 05, 1892 in TN. He married Elizabeth Bullock
August 16, 1877 in Campbell Co, TN, daughter of Francis Bullock
and Millie Beach.

Notes for Perry Carroll:
Perry was murdered by his brother-in-law, Tom Patterson, on
Jan 5, 1892. Tom was captured by Sheriff Rutherford of Anderson
Co, TN and brought to Clinton, TN on Feb 4, 1892. The disposition
of the case against Tom is not known but from the spacing of his
children, he evidently served a maximum of four years in prison.

Alexander Carroll, 70, a former resident of Briceville
and a veteran of both the Spanish American War and World
War I, died suddenly Wednesday, March 5th, in Knoxville.
He is survived by his widow; Mrs Violet Delanty Carroll
of Knoxville; one daughter, Mrs Love; and one son, Sterling
Carroll of Camp Campbell, KY; two brothers, Sterling and
Amos Carroll, both of Briceville; two sisters, Mrs Litha
Braden of Briceville, and Mrs Nancy Bell Brown of Evarts,
KY. Services were held Friday at 12:30 PM at the Laurel
Branch Baptist Church in Briceville with the Rev Oniza
Dugger and the Rev W A Cogdill officiating. Intement
was in the National Cemetery in Knoxville with Military
honors at the grave. Martin's of Lake City had charge.

Amos Carroll, 87, a retired coal miner from Briceville,
died at 4 AM Sunday in LaFollette Community Hospital. He
was a mamber of Walden's View Baptist Church. Services
were held at 2 PM Tuesday at Walden's View Baptist Church
with the Rev Ruley Duncan and the Rev Guy Lively officiating.
Burial was in Circle cemetery at Briceville. Carroll leaves his
wife; Mrs Ann Carroll; two daughters, Mrs Nola Aratochvil
and Mrs Cordelia Lowe, both of Briceville; two sons, Robert
of Oliver Springs, and Bert of Briceville; two sisters, Litha
Braden of Lake City, and Mrs Nancy Bell Brown of Evarts,
KY; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A Lake City nonagenarian, Litha Braden, 99, died Oct
28 at Anderson County Health Care Center. She was born in
Scott County and grew up in the New River area. She had
lived in Lake City for many years and was a member of Beech
Grove Baptist Church. Her first husband, Jim Phillips, died in
1918. A son; Perry Phillips also died earlier. Survivors include
five sons; the Rev General Phillips, Alfred Phillips, and Arkes Braden, all of Lake City,
Richard Phillips of Jacksboro, Arthur Braden of Kokomo, IN; three daughters, Martha
Phillips, and Cynthia Bray, both of Lake City, and Ollie Duncan; a stepdaughter,
Nellie Duncan of Oliver Springs; 38 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren
and great-great grandchildren. The funeral was held Monday at Grave Hill.

Mrs Kizzie Lowe, 85, of Bennett Rd, Oliver Springs
Rt 3, died at 8:30 PM Sunday at her home of a heart attack,
leaving at least 106 descendants, including 95 grandchildren.
A native of Scott County, she had lived in the Oliver Springs
area for about 12 years. Her husband, Dale Lowe, died several
years ago. Mrs Lowe was a member of Smokey Juction Baptist
Church in Scott County and enjoyed quilting. Other survivors
include seven daughters; Mrs Opal McIntosh of Greeneville,
Mrs Pearl Martin of Lake City, Mrs Ruby Carroll and Mrs
Beulah Reynolds of Clinton, Mrs Christine Gaddin of Oliver
Springs, Mrs Wanda Lowe of Pioneer Rt 1, and Mrs Geraldine
Ray of Claxton; four sons, Clifford Lowe of Clinton, Milford
and Gilbert Carroll of Oliver Springs Rt 3, and Lonzo
Carroll of Oxford, IN; 95 grandchildren; several great
grandchildren and great great grandchildren; five sisters,
Mrs Lillie Phillips and Mrs Vernice Lowe of Oliver Springs
Rt 3, Mrs Meodie Harris of Petros, and Mrs Myrtle Morgan
and Mrs Teresa Armes of Wartburg; and two brothers,
Boyd Keathley of Wartburg and Hustle Keathley of Kentucky.
Funeral servies were held Wednesday at the Sharp Funeral
Home chapel in Oliver Springs with the Rev Robert Rose
officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery near Clinton.
