Carolyn:

While I am not a direct descendant of the Scales, I have a Dunaway (Sudie
Dunaway married James H.C. Scales and they moved to Wise Co., TX) that
married into the line. It breaks my heart to see such disrespect and damage
being done to our "collective" heritage's.

So, I would like to make a donation to the fencing of the cemetery. Tell me
who and where to send the money, and I will do what I can to make a
contribution. I am always interested in preserving our Bedford Co. history.

According to my Cemetery Records of Bedford Co., TN (by the Marsh's), a
Scales Burying Ground is not listed. If this is a new cemetery, have the
markers been inventoried? Could I also get a copy of any of the inscriptions?

Also, if you want any information on James H.C. Scales, his wife, Sudie N.
Dunaway, and their children, let me know. Be glad to share with you what
information I have on the family (which is quite a bit).
