"Flat Creek -- MR. ROBERT GAITHER was surprised last Tuesday, Jan. 28, by his children coming and bringing in a bountiful birthday dinner, it being his 72 anniversary. Those who were there was [sic]: MR. R. L. GAITHER and family, of Normandy, MR. ALLIE GAITHER and family, and MR. JOHN HAGGARD and family, of Shelbyville, and MR. JAMES REED and family." 06 Feb 1913 "The friends of MRS. BELLE HAGGARD here were shocked to learn of her death last Monday at Tullahoma. She was struck by a fast freight train last Monday evening and so badly injured that she died a little later in the day. Mrs. Haggard was the mother of MR.
