BURRESS, FRED HENRY - age 91, of Clinton, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday,
February 16, 1999 at his residence. He was a member of Black Oak Baptist
Church in Clinton. He was retired from Magnet Mills and Highlander Limited
Knitting Company in Morganton, NC. He was preceded in death by parents, Thomas
and Mary Farmer Burress; brothers and wives, Reese and Flossie Burrell, Joe
and Willie Ruth Burress, Hobert and Hobert Burress and Homer and Nannie
Burress; sisters and husbands, Sue and Don Braden, Jack and Sherman Brock,
Laura and Houston Moore, Othella and Earl Byrge. He is survived by wife of 60
years, Jean Silvey Burress of Clinton; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and
Totsy Burress of Clinton, Raymond and Jane Burress of Valdese, NC; sister,
Hazel and husband, Dr. Joe Ivester of New London, NC; grandchildren, Myra and
husband, Rick Keever of Jonesboro, TN, Wayne and wife, Angie Burress of
Clinton, Kevin Burress of Valdese, NC; great-great-grandchildren, Travis
Keever, Ryan Keever and Meredith Burress. Funeral service 8:30 p.m. Thursday,
February 18, 1999 at Holley Gamble Chapel with Rev. Mack Smith officiating.
Interment 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 19 at McCarty Woodhaven Memorial Garden
in Claxton Community. Family will receive friends 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday
at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton.
