CHAVERS, NANCY WHALEN - age 52 , a resident of the Marlow Community of
Anderson County, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2000 at her home. Mrs. Chavers
was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Young and Hazel Hill Whalen, by
a brother, Lenny Whalen, and a sister, Kathy Joanna Whalen. Survivors:
husband, Delane Chavers of Clinton; son, Steve Thompson and wife, Stephany of
Oliver Springs; grandson, Dakota Delane Thompson of Oliver Springs; brothers,
Paul Whalen and wife Rose of Knoxville, Bud Whalen and wife Betty of Oliver
Springs, Ted Whalen and wife, Judy of Loxley, Alabama; sisters, Sherry Cox
and husband, Danny of Kingston, Barbara Goad and husband Eddie of Clinton,
Mimi Parnel and husband Ron of Beach Island, SC Lisa Whalen of Harriman. Mrs.
Chavers was born September 10, 1947 in Oliver Springs. She has lived most of
her life in this area. She worked for the State of Tennessee for the
Department of Health and Investigation. She is a member of Mr. Pisgah Baptist
Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 6, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the
chapel of Sharp Funeral Home with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating. Burial
will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Saturday, between
the hours of 12-2 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Home.

RICHMOND, JOHN MICHAEL - age 48 of Norris, Tenn. passed away Sunday at John
S. Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He was of the Catholic faith. He
was a graduate of UT where he received a masters Degree & St. Mary's School
of Nursing. He was a private nursing practitioner & stock broker. Preceded in
death by mother, Geneviene Clifford Richmond. Survived by wife, Kathy
Ratchford of Norris; father, Frank C. Richmond of Knoxville; and brother,
Patrick Richmond of Knoxville. Family & friends will leave Rose Mortuary
Broadway Chapel Friday at 9:45 a.m. and proceed to Calvary Cemetery for a 10
a.m. graveside service with Father Xavier Mankel officiating. In lieu of
flowers memorials can be made to the InterFaith Health Clinic, 315 Gill
Avenue Knoxville, Tenn. 37917. Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday with Scripture Reading at 7
p.m. at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.

ROADEN, DONNY CARL - age 67 of LaFollette passed away May 3, 2000 at the
Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. The family will have a graveside
service at Vowell mountain Cemetery 1 p.m. Friday May 5, 2000 with full
military honors. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City in charge of
arrangements
