GUTTERY, FRED BACCUS, - 81 of Oak Ridge died Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at
Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Veteran of WWII serving
with the US Army Airforce in the 111th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron.
Retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems/Y-12. Attended Trinity United
Methodist Church. He is survived by: wife, Ella Gray Guttery of Oak Ridge;
sons, John Morris Guttery and wife Gale of Powell and L.C. Parker and wife
Charlotte of Oak Ridge; daughters, Patti Atkinson of Oak Ridge and Barbara
Crowder and husband Ed of Clinton; sister, Betty Sawyer of Carbon Hill, Ala.;
8 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services are Sunday, May
14, 2000 at 8:00 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Rev. Charles L. Mattson
officiating and Pastor Tom Job assisting. Graveside services will be held
Monday, May 15, 2000 at noon at the Tenn. Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville.
Full Military Honors will be provided by the East Tenn. Veterans Honor Guard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Atkinson, Donald Parker, Leon Parker, Jr.,
Larry Parker, Roger Parker, Keith Parker, Eddie Crowder, William Arthur
Sawyer, and Edward Earl Sawyer. Memorials may be made St. Jude Children's
Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, PO Box 3704, Memphis, Tenn.
38173-0704. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge.
