DARLENE A. AARON, 43, of LaFollette, died Monday, June 26 at LaFollette
Medical Center.
She is survived by; husband, Tracy Aaron; daughters, Angel Kennedy, Shannon
Daniels, and Brandy Hutson, all of LaFollette; parents, Harrison and Nadine
Peters Paul of LaFollette; brothers, James Paul, Rob Paul, and William Paul,
all of Ohio; sisters, Michelle Pish, and Margaret Paul, both of LaFollette;
special friends, Irving and Cora Vee Cazwell of Fremont, Indiana, Mitchell
and Freida Shelton of Jacksboro, and Stacia Johnson of LaFollette; and eight
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 29 at Blue Hole Creek with Rev.
Mitchell Shelton and Rev. James Paul officiating. Martin Wilson Funeral Home
of LaFollette in charge of arrangements.
BOBBY L. BAIRD, 61, of Toledo, Ohio, died Saturday, July 1 at the Saint
Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was a machinist for Champion Spark Plug
Company for 25 years, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Navy. He was
preceded in death by; mother, Ollie Douglas; and son, Milford Harold Baird.
Survivors include; wife, Anna Sue Baird ; father, James Baird of Cincinnati,
Ohio; stepfather, Raymond Douglas of Dundee, Michigan; son, James Robert
"Joey" Baird of Toledo, Ohio; daughter, Deborah Thompson of Perrysburg, Ohio;
grandchildren, James Ray, Kendra, Jacob, and Jessie; three brothers; five
sisters; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 5 at Harp Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Bryan Thompson officiating. Interment followed in Valleyview Cemetery,
Elk Valley.
LAWRENCE LEONARD COX, 89, of LaFollette, died Saturday, July 11 at LaFollette
Medical Center. He was preceded in death by; wife, Corene Cox; parents,
William and Maude Cox of Phoenix, Arizona; four brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include; daughter, Ruby D. Miller of LaFollette; son, Danny Lee Cox
of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Ruby Morrison of Kingsport; grandchildren, Ricky
Miller of Augusta, Georgia, Debra Brogden of Luttrell, Tennessee, and Noah A.
Miller of LaFollette; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews;
and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July
4 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Miller officiating.
EWELL LAWSON, 93, of Williamsburg, Kentucky, died Monday, July 3 at his home.
He was preceded in death by; wife, Malinda Lawson; sons, Narvie Lawson, and
Donald Lawson; daughter, Mary Lawson. Survivors include; sons, Arlie Lawson,
Kirby Lawson, and Randy Lawson, all of Williamsburg, Kentucky; daughters,
Dorthy Parton, and Janice Moffer, both of Williamsburg, Ohio, Dora Lawson,
Margie Brock, and Frieda Sears, all of Williamsburg, Kentucky; brother,
William Crit Lawson of Williamsburg, Kentucky; and a host of grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday), July 6 at 1 p.m. at Harp
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A. J. Barton and Rev. George Hill officiating.
Interment will follow in Siler Cemetery.
NELLIE M. BROCK PARKS, 84, of LaFollette, died Tuesday, July 4 at LaFollette
Nursing Home. .
She was preceded in death by; husband, Owen Parks with whom she was
co-owner/operator of Peoples Department Store in LaFollette. Survivors
include; son,and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Barbara Parks of LaFollette; and
grandson, Brock Parks of LaFollette. Funeral services will be held today
(Thursday), July 6 at Cross Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Dabney and
Bro. Don Proffitt officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8
p.m. prior to funeral services. Interment will follow Friday, July 7 in
Campbell Memorial Gardens.
BARBAR DEE GUINN SLONE, 68, of Harlan County, Kentucky, died Monday, July 3
in Knoxville. She was a member of Harlan United Methodist Church, and the
Benham Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a strong supporter of the Harlan
Boys Choir, the Boy Scouts & Camp Blanton, and Harlan Independent High
School. She was preceded in death by; father, Donald L. Guinn; mother,
Lucille Maxwell McGlamery; and step-father, Clarence G. McGlamery. Survivors
include; husband, Ezra Donald Slone; brother, Donald Lloyd Guinn of Elmira,
New York; sons, Robert Michael of Caryville, Timothy Kevin , and Patrick
Donald, both of Clinton, and Jeffrey Norman of Vansant, Virginia;
grandchildren, Thomas, Bryan, Kacy, Matthew, and Sarah; three nieces; and one
nephew. There will be no funeral service due to her wishes. A memorial
service will be held Monday, July 17 at the Harlan Country Club. Please do
not send flowers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Big Prater
Baptist Church, Rt. 2 Box 481, Vansant, Virginia 24656; the Harlan Boys Choir
c/o Monika Howard, PO Box 57, Baxter, KY. 40806; or Camp Blanton Trust, Inc.,
