CRUME, LAURENCE "LARRY" - age 43, of Navajo Trail, died Wed. July 19, 2000 at
his residence. He was born Dec. 18, 1956 in Middletown, CT, a son of Betty
Rhoton and Charles Crume. Mr. Crume moved to Myrtle Beach in 1978 from Oak
Ridge, Tenn. He was an electronics maintenance technician for AVX, Inc. since
1979, and enjoyed bowling, motorcycles, computers, and gardening. Survivors
in addition to his mother of Luttrell, Tenn. and his father of Oak Ridge,
Tenn., is a daughter, Lorelei "Lori" Crume of Conway; his companion, Judy
Fisher of Myrtle Beach; a brother, David C. Crume of Houston, Texas; a
sister, Marjorie "Lee" Simmons of Loveland, Colo.; his paternal grandfather,
Carl E. Bennett of Dayton, Ohio; and an aunt, Phyllis Bengtson and her
husband, Warren, of Middletown. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on
Sat., July 22 in the McMillan-Small Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Kirk
Lawton officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to
the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
memorials to Wegener's Granulomatosis Support Group, Inc. P.O. Box
28660,Kansas City, Mo. 64188-8660.
McDONALD, ANNA LOIS FOX - 75, of LaFollette, beloved wife and partner went to
the other side on July 20, 2000. Preceded in death by mother and father, Joe
and Eva Fox; sister, Beulah F. Archer; and brother, Bill Fox. Lois is
survived by husband, Miller McDonald; sons, Miller B. McDonald, Jr. Phd. of
Columbus, Ohio, professor, scientist and author of Ohio State University,
Leonard Martin McDonald, Attorney, Entrepreneur and business man of
Knoxville, Willard Ernest McDonald (Will) B.S. MA; audio visual manager of
communications at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga; daughter, Kathryn Lois
McDonald Mayberry, B.S. of Murfreesboro; sister, Una Fox Childress of
Knoxville; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was a member
of LaFollette United Methodist Church and former president of Hill and Valley
Garden Club. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 22, in
the sanctuary of LaFollette United Methodist Church. Rev. Don Reynolds (Ret)
and Rev. Malcolm Wansley, pastor of LaFollette United Methodist Church
officiating. Eulogy will be given by Ben Rogers. Interment in Bakers Forge
Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to Memorial
service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the LaFollette United
Methodist Church, P.O. Box 168 LaFollette, Tenn. 37766. Cross Funeral Home in
charge.
MEDLEY, LAMAR - age 83, of Clinton, passed away July 19, 2000 at The
Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He served proudly in World War II in
The Pacific Theatre as a Captain in the Army Air Corps. He came to Oak Ridge
in 1946 while still a Captain and worked in Community Affairs. After the army
left Oak Ridge, he remained and worked for The Atomic Energy Commission,
which became The Department of Energy. He retired in 1976 as a Contract
Administrator. Mr. Medley enjoyed the outdoors, most especially raising
cattle. He was an active member of Memorial United Methodist Church and The
Wesley Bible Class. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Hall
Medley. Born Dec. 9, 1916 in Baxter, TN. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law,
James E. and Sara Medley of Clinton; daughter, Deane Medley of Clinton; son
and daughter-in-law, Mark and Donna Medley of Clinton; grandchildren, Harper
Pietrzak, Ben Medley, Anne Medley, Patricia Medley and Corey Medley;
great-granddaughter, Georgia Pietrzak; sisters, Ruth Neal of Baxter, TN and
Louise Medley of Cookeville, TN. The family will receive friends 6-8p.m.
Fri., July 21, 2000 at Memorial United Methodist Church in Clinton with
funeral service following at 8p.m. at the Church, Rev. Don Thomas
officiating. Interment will be held 10:00 a.m. Sat., July 22nd at Sunset
Cemetery in Clinton. Memorials may be made to Memorial United Methodist
Church, 323 North Main Street, Clinton, TN 37716. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home
of Clinton in charge.
