BALLOFF, JANET TOGAL - age 78, of LaFollette, passed away Thursday, July 27,
2000 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. She was a member of Heska Amuna
Synagogue and a life member of the Knoxville Chapter of Hadassah, the
Tennessee Federation of Garden Clubs, and the National Council of State
Garden Clubs. She was a member and past President of the Town & Country
Garden Club of LaFollette. She served on the nursing committee for Cumberland
College, Williamsburg, Ky. Preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Togal
and mother and step father, Freda and Nathan Samet. Survived by her husband
of 57 years, Edward Balloff; daughters and sons in law, Barbara and Hap
Heilman of Primm springs, Tenn., and Carol and Steve Abeles of Knoxville;
grandchildren, Apple Heilman Martine of Seattle, Wash., Zachary Heilman of
New Orlans, La., Adam and Emily Abeles of Knoxville; brothers in law, and
sisters in law, Marvin and Eve Margolies of Encino, Calif., Sam and Peggy
Balloff of Knoxville. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday July 30, 2000
at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, with
Rabbi Beth Schwartz officiating. Interment to follow at New Jewish Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Steve Abeles, Adam Abeles, Hap Heilman, Zachary Heilman, David
Balloff, and Dr. Gary Margolies. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to
St. Mary's Residential Hospice, 7447 Andersonville, Pk., Knoxville, Tenn.

Center, 6800 Deane Hill Dr., Knoxville, Tenn. 37919. Arrangements by Rose

CULPEPPER, CHARLES ALFRED - age 71, of Oak Ridge, passed away Friday, July
28, 2000 at his residence. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Oak
Ridge. He retired as a Senior Science Technologist with Union Carbide &
Martin Marietta. He worked at K-25 for 26 years & X-10 for 14 years. Preceded
in death by parents, Charles & Clara Harding Culpepper. Born March 1, 1929 in
Birmingham, Ala. Survivors: wife, Mary Sue Culpepper of Oak Ridge; daughters,
Marcia Rose of Oak Ridge, Susan C. Ramsey & husband, David of Knoxville;
sons, Jim Culpepper & wife, Jane of Knoxville; John Culpepper & wife, Karen
of Ithaca, New York. Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday July 31,
2000 at Faith Lutheran Church in Oak Ridge with Rev. James Evers officiating.
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton in charge of all arrangements.
