PEBLEY, WAYNE "DUMP" - age 91 of Lake City, passed away Friday July 28, 2000
at his residence. He was born February 19, 1909 in Anderson Co. Tenn. Dump
was a devoted member of the Main Street Baptist Church, where he was Sunday
school teacher and Secretary for many years. He was 32nd Degree Scottish Rite
Mason and a member of the Coal Creek Lodge #492 F&AM. Dump worked as a
machinist at Magnet Mills in Clinton, Tenn. for over 40 years. Mr. Pebley
loved spending time with his family and friends and gardening. He is preceded
in death by his parents, William and Myra Alexander Pebley; brothers, Sammy
Pebley and Lacy Pebley; sister, Claudia Pebley. Survivors: wife of 67 years,
Helen Courtney Pebley, Lake City; sons & daughters in law, Billy and Glenna
Pebley, Lake City, Mickey and Penny Pebley, Lake City; daughter & son in law,
Carole and Donnie Leach, Lake City; brothers & sisters in law, Clyde and Ruth
Pebley, Clinton, Kenneth and Naomi Pebley, Lake City; 8 grandchildren; 11
great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Visitation, 6-8 p.m. Sunday July 30, 2000 at the Main Street Baptist Church
in Lake City, Tenn. Funeral service 8 p.m. Sunday July 30, 2000 at the Main
Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Martin, Rev. Wayne Phillips, and Rev.
Justin Phillips officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Monday July 31, 2000 at the
Leach Cemetery Lake City, Tenn. with Masonic honors at graveside. Cox-Martin
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
