Subject: [TNCAMPBE-L] German B. Reeves
Date: Mon, 8 Sep 2003 13:22:36 EDT
German B. Reeves was born about 1808 in either VA or KY, son of John and
Hannah Pedigo Reeves. The family appears to have moved to Campbell Co., TN,
shortly after 1810.
German married Mary Ann Dickson about 1825 or 1826 and they had 11
children, all born in Campbell County. German and Mary Ann appear for the last
time on the 1870 census. Their burial places have not been found.
Their children were:
1) Margaret Ann born about 1828. She was single and living at home in 1870.
2) Elizabeth born about 1829. She is not with the family in 1860 but a
Delilah Reeves, aged 25, does appear as a domestic in another household.
3) John D. Reeves born in 1830. He moved to Roane Co., TN, following the
Civil War.
4) Thomas Reeves born about 1833. He moved to Indianapolis, IN, during the
early 1860s.
5) Cynthia Reeves born about 1835. She married James Walker and remained in
Campbell Co.
6) Emeline Reeves born about 1837. She married Alfred Elkins. They later
moved to Arkansas.
7) Hannah Reeves born about 1841. She is not with the family in 1860.
8) William Reeves born about 1843. A William Reeves of the correct age is
residing in Indianapolis, IN, in 1870.
9) George W. Reeves born about 1845. He married his cousin Susannah/Susan
Reeves. They moved to Indiana then to Arkansas.
10) Albert Reeves born about 1847. He is home in 1860 but has not been found
after that date.
11) Louisa Reeves born about 1854. She is home in 1870 but has not been
found after that date.
I would like contact with anyone working on these families. I have some
information which I will be happy to share.
