LEDFORD, RALPH DOYLE - age 69 of Lenoir City,
NEWPORT, PHYLLIS ANN REDMON age 59 of Wartburg,
TAYLOR, HELEN E. - age 80, of Lake City,
JOHNSON, GORDON HENRY - age 61 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2004
at UT Hospital. He was a veteran of the Tennessee National Guard. preceded in
death by a loving companion Darlene G. Buckner; parents, Omer & Pearl Peoples
Johnson. Survivors: daughters, Robin & husband, Tim Kelley of Powell, Tessa
Johnson & fiancé, Allen Kelly of Clinton; brother, Carl Johnson of Clinton;
grandchildren, Andy Kelley, Josh Buckner, Faith Buckner, Joseph Buckner & Kalli
Buckner. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Holley-
Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services following in the chapel with Rev.
Marty Stooksbury officiating. The burial will be 12 noon Friday at Pleasant Hill
Baptist Church. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton in charge of all
arrangements.
LEDFORD, RALPH DOYLE - age 69 of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, May 25,
2004, at Park West Hospital. Doyle retired from the Knoxville New Sentinel. He
was also a retired machinist from Oak Ridge, Y-12 and K-25 Plants. A member of
Avery Masonic Lodge #593 F and AM and Knoxville Scottish Rite. Preceded in
death by: parents, Ralph and Monteen Ledford. Survived by: his wife of 50 years,
Carma Adele (Susie) Mann Ledford; daughter, Lesa Ledford Cochran and husband,
Howard of Knoxville; granddaughter, Whitney Denae Cochran; sisters: Dean Grubb
and husband, Curtis of Tellico Village, Nell Beeler of Lenoir City, Sharon
Anthony and husband, Wayne of Lenoir City and Gail West of Alabama; several
nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the
doctors and staff in I.C.U. at Park West Hospital for all their care. The family
will received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir
City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Click Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Gerald Bland officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview
Cemetery. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is serving the family of Doyle

NEWPORT, PHYLLIS ANN REDMON age 59 of Wartburg, passed away at her home
Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 10:15 am. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She had worked at Citizen's Bank and Trust Co. for 23 years and also at
Citizen's First Bank, Wartburg. She was preceded in death by: her grandparents Carl
and Ella Terry, John and Frieda Redmon; father, Larry (Bill) Redmon. She is
survived by: her husband, Harold Newport; mother, Gertrude Redmon; sisters, Linda
(Gary) Petrey, Barbara (Leonard) McNeese; "special sister", Berlene Ekmark;
nephew, Larry Petrey; nieces, Valerie Anderson and Missy Ekmark and special
little buddy, Maxwell Anderson; several other relatives and friends. The family
will receive friends Friday, May 28, 2004 from 6-8 pm at Schubert Funeral Home,
Wartburg. Funeral services will begin at 8 pm with Pastor Paul Frick
officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, 11 am in Liberty Church
Cemetery.
TAYLOR, HELEN E. - age 80, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at
the Lake City Health Care Center. She was born January 11, 1924 in Anderson
County, Tennessee to the late Marion and Sylvia Vandergriff Lewis. Helen was a
member of the Briceville Church of God. She loved woodworking, ceramics and
flower gardening. Helen is preceded in death by: her parents. Survivors: son,
Jerry Taylor, Lake City; sister-in-law, Faye Taylor, Powell, TN; special friend,
June Burton, Lake City, TN. Visitation, 6- 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2004
at the Hatmaker Funeral Home. Funeral service, 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2004
in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C.J. Frank of Maryville, TN
officiating. Interment: 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2004 at the Oak Ridge Memorial
Park in Oak Ridge, TN. Hatmaker Funeral Home of Lake City in charge of
arrangements.
