Vickie Lynn Boshears age 46 of Caryville died Oct. 12 at Select Hospital in
Knoxville. She was a member of Caryville First Baptist Church. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Earnest Boshears; son, Jason Boshears; parents,
Lester Murphy and Christine Sutton; grandmother: Martha Murphy.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Rachel Boshears of
Madisonville; daughter, Jessica Boshears of LaFollette; grandsons: EJ and
Matthew Boshears of Madisonville, ;brothers and sisters in law, Mitchell and
Connie Murphy of Caryville; Mack and Mary Murphy of Clinton; Randall and Cindy
Murphy of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Johnny Murphy of Dayton, TN; sisters, Olene
Goodman of Caryville; Barbara Watson of GA; Doris McCurry, Kay Adkisson, and
Alma McKinney all of Harriman; special nieces, Tina Goodman of Jacksboro;
Heather Heatherly of Caryville; special companion and partner, Sid Jarvis of
Caryville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were Oct. 15 at the Bruce Gap Community Church of God with
Brother Willard McCormick officiating. Interment was in Queener Cemetery. Martin
Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


Loretta Bowlin, age 72 of Walbridge, OH, formerly of Jellico died Oct. 13 at
her residence. She was born April 11, 1932 in LaFollette, the daughter of
Jerry and Nannie Butler Prewitt. She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church,
Batavia, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bowlin. She is
survived by her daughter, Patricia Gail Lawson of Oregon, OH, Marilyn Twonette
Oberlin and husband, Dean of Oregon, OH, Mary Marlene Fair and husband, Jerry of
Sylvania, OH; grandchildren, Melissa Thomas and husband, Joe of Findlay, OH,
Jennifer Oberlin of Oregon, OH, Brian Fair and Chris Fair of Wilmington, NC;
great-grandchildren, Justin Thomas, Tyler Thomas and Marie Thomas, all of
Findlay, OH; brothers, Charles Prewitt and wife, Frances, James Prewitt and wife,
Laura Jane and Quentin Prewitt, all of Jellico, KY; sisters, Joyce Bowlin and
husband, Howard of Oregon, OH, Delores Vest of Louisville, KY; many nieces and
nephews whom she loved dearly. Funeral services were held Oct. 16 at the Cox
and Son Chapel with Rev. Sammy Douglas officiating. Interment was in the Bowlin
Cemetery in Jellico. The family requests memorial contributions be made to
Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Batavia, OH or Hospice of Northwest, OH. Cox and
Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Shane Avery Cobb, age 26 of LaFollette died suddenly Oct. 14 in Claiborne
County. He was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America. He
was a loving father, son and brother who enjoyed spending time with his family
and friends. He also enjoyed anything with the outdoors. He is survived by
his daughter, Nevaeh Cobb of LaFollette; father, Hank Cobb of Al; mother, Kathy
Powers of LaFollette; brothers, Zachary Cobb of LaFollette and Travis Cobb of
Lima, OH; grandparents, Hershel and Virgie Powers of Speedwell; grandmother,
Thelma Bonner of Ala; girlfriend, Bridgett Ford of LaFollette; several nieces
and nephews and a host of other friends and relatives. Funeral services were
Oct. 20 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Steve Bruce officiating.
Internment will be Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. in the Flat Hollow Church of God Cemetery. Martin
Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


Effie Mae Rollins Cooper, age 89 of LaFollette went to be with the Lord on
Oct. 13 at her home. She as a longtime member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. She
loved gardening, taking care of her flowers and spending time with and taking
care of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years,
George B. Cooper; parents, Calvin and Jane Howard Rollins, sisters, Cora, Kitty,
Loreda, Eunice, Sophia and Grace; brother, Rule and John Rollins. She is
survived by her sons, John D. Cooper of LaFollette, Ed and Larry Cooper of Brighton,
CO, Gene Cooper of Westminster, MD; daughters, Rita Jane Cooper of Pasadena,
MD and Shirley Offerson of Denver, CO; 12 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren; special niece, June Cassell; several other nieces, nephews and host of
friends. Funeral services were Oct. 16 at Cedar Hill Baptist Church with Rev.
Ronnie Arnold officiating. Interment was in the Bakers Forge Cemetery. Cross
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.



Ada Cupp age 98 of LaFollette died Oct. 14 at St. Mary's Health and
Rehabilitation Center in LaFollette. She was of the Church of God Faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Cupp, a Spanish-American War
Veteran; son, Jack Cupp; daughter, Juanita Sonja Volk; fifteen brothers and
sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Gayle Sweat of LaFollette, Shirley
Yoakum and husband, John W. (Babe) Yoakum of Oak Grove KY; 15 grandchildren and
several great grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends. Funeral services were Oct. 16 at Walters Chapel with Rev. Mike Smith
officiating. Graveside services and interment were at Woodlawn Cemetery with
grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers. Walters Funeral Home was in
charge of the arrangements.


Suda Jean Goins, age 78 of LaFollette died Oct. 16 at St. Mary's Medical
Center of Campbell County. She was a loving sister and aunt who enjoyed spending
time with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and
Ida Mae Lester Goins; brothers, Doyle and Bill Goins and Tommy Lester;
sisters, Maude Dilbeck and Marie Goins. She is survived by her sisters, Willie Mae
Parrott and Virginia Goins, both of LaFollette and Emela Campbell of New
Tazewell; several nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends. Private
graveside services were Oct. 18 in Woodlawn Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral
Home was in charge of the arrangements.


Grace Wilma Hamby, age 63 of Jellico died Oct. 16 at the Jellico Community
Hospital. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lay and husband, Lonnie of
Jellico, Saundra McFarland and husband, Anthony of Corbin, KY; granddaughter,
Laura McFarland of Corbin, KY; brother, Roy Waller of Goshen, IND; sisters,
Alice Baker of Loveland, OH and Thelma Wright of Freemont, OH; special friend,
Wayne Justice of Jellico; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral
services were Oct. 21 at Harp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denny Wayne Davis
officiating. Interment was in the Newcomb Cemetery. Harp Funeral Home was in charge
of the arrangements.



Anna Sharp Hunter 100 years of age of LaFollette died Oct. 12. She graduated
from Peabody College in 1926. She was a life time member of the LaFollette
Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey S. Hunter; son
Robert Jerry Hunter; parents Robert H. and Lena Smith Sharp; sister, Sophia
Sharp and brother-in-law. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Billie Sue
Hunter, five granddaughters and 12 great grandchildren, two nieces, Ann Upchurch
and Carol Smith and families.
Graveside services and interment were Oct. 16 at the Woodlawn Cemetery with
Rev. Danny Hensley officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the
LaFollette United Methodist Church or Roane State College of Campbell County.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


Bobby G. Lay, age 69 of Newcomb died Oct. 10 at the Jellico Community
Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Arley Lay and Nellie
Smith Lay; sister, Lois Ann Sellers. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Lay of
Newcomb; son, Michael Keith Lay and wife, Donna of Newcomb; daughter, Melissa Gail
Lay of Newcomb; brothers, Billy Ray Lay of Newcomb, Dennis Lay of Newcomb,
Carley Lay of Jacksonville, FLA, Nelson Lay of Miamisburg, OH and Arley Lay, Jr.
of Maryville; sisters, Helen King of Morley and Wanda Leach of Saxton, KY; a
host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were Oct. 12 at Harp
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Denny Wayne Davis officiating. Interment was in the
Hackler Cemetery. Harp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


Evelyn Parish, age 62 went home to be with the Lord in the early morning
hours on Oct. 17 at her home in Harrogate. She was born and raised in Martin
County, KY. She attended the House of Prayer and Praise in LaFollette She is loved
and missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hampton and
Jennie Maynard Bowen. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Parish of Harrogate;
daughters, Monica White of Inez, KY, Tammy White of LaFollette and Lacy Parish
of Harrogate; sons, Herbert Simpson of OH, Perry Simpson of LaMore, CA,
Ronnie Parish, Jackie Parish and David Parish all of Harrogate; 24 grandchildren
and 3 great grandchildren; brothers, Bill Bowen of Marion, OH and Edward Bowen
of Inez, KY; sisters, Mae Hughes and Mollie Young, both of Marion, OH and
Noldia Porter of Debord, KY; several nieces, nephews and host of other relatives
and friends. Funeral services were Oct. 20 at the House of Prayer and Praise in
LaFollette with the Rev. Carl Martin officiating. Interment was in the
Harrogate Cemetery. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


Bessie L. Parker, age 81 of Toledo, OH, formerly of Cane Creek, KY community
died Oct. 14 at the Toledo Hospital after a long illness. She was a loving
mother who was loved and will be missed by all. Reach down oh Lord, and take her
hand so she may walk where you have planned. She was born March 13, 1923 at
Frakes, KY, the daughter of the late Elbert and Mossie Jones Partin. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Chester Parker; brothers, Willard Partin and
Willie Partin; sister, Betty Sue Ball.
She is survived by her son, Verlin R. Parker and wife, Linda of Toledo, OH;
several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Wayne Partin and
wife, Ella Joan of Cleveland, TN, William Partin of Williamsburg, KY; sister,
Lois Benson and husband, Ron of Los Angeles, CA; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Oct. 21 at noon at the Cox and Son Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Willie Partin officiating. Internment will be in the Clearfork
Cemetery at Cane Creek, KY. Cox and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the
arrangements.


Tommie Louise Webb, age 86 of Clairfield died Oct. 16 at the Jellico
Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Marion Webb;
sisters, Elizabeth Redmon and Violet McCoy; brothers, Carl, Bill, Joe, Ben and
Charles Giles. She is survived by her sons, Bruce Webb and wife, Marylee of
Clairfield, Kenneth Webb and Mary Ruth of Frakes, KY; daughter, Ruth Parker of
Clairfield; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives
and friends. Funeral services were Oct. 20 at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Jimmy Bowman and Rev. Roger Hurst officiating. Interment was in the
Leach-Roses Cemetery.
