Sallie Mae Tussey Anderson, 82, of Oak Ridge,
Brooke Marie "Boogie" Culbreth, age 18, of Concord,
Dora Noe Gouge, age 88, a resident of Oliver Springs,
James J. Renc, age 96,
Marjorie L. Robertson, 88, of Leesburg,
Elizabeth Wanda Young, age 71, of Oak Ridge,
Sallie Mae Tussey Anderson, 82, of Oak Ridge, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at
the University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville. She was born June 18,
1924, in McKee, Ky., the daughter of Scott and Hallie Durham Tussey. She was a
member of the First Baptist Church of New Lebanon, Ohio. Mrs. Anderson
retired from General Motors Corp., where she was an inspector.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Jesse Paul
Anderson, on July 8, 2005; and by brothers, Ova, Jones, Boone and Ben Tussey;
and sister, Zell Cornelius. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly J.
Lindsey and husband, Jack of Oak Ridge; sister, Teddi Stapleton of Dayton, Ohio;
grandchildren, Joe M. Lindsey and wife Cassie of Mustang, Okla., and Sallie J.
Orns and husband Dennis of Oak Ridge; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Aaron,
Brittany, James, Zoe, Greenlee and Avery. Funeral services are Wednesday, Oct.
4, 2006, at 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with Dr. Mark Walton officiating.
Graveside services are Thursday at 11 a.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The
family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to a charity of the
donor's choice. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Brooke Marie "Boogie" Culbreth, age 18, of Concord, Daddy's Princess and her
mom's best friend, went home to be with the Lord suddenly Friday, Sept. 29,
2006, at her home of natural causes. She was a member of First Baptist Church,
Concord, where she was a child care worker in the Concord Christian School.
Brooke was manager of the Farragut High School Boys' Soccer Team for the past
four years, where she received Manager of the Year for the Region for three of
those years. She was an avid dancer and loved working with "her kids" in the
Concord Christian School Day Care Program. Brooke is survived by her loving and
devoted family: parents, Walter E. III "Wallie" and Donna Howard Culbreth;
brothers and sister-in-law, Walter and Ashley Culbreth, Bradley Culbreth and
girlfriend, Megan Vendley all of Concord; paternal grandparents, Walter E. Jr.
"Dude" and Peggy Culbreth of Davidson, N.C.; maternal grandparents, Regina Gayer
and husband Bland of Pompano Beach, Fla., Jim Howard and wife Marsha of
Franklin, N.C.; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and "her boys," the Farragut High
School Boy's Soccer Team. Celebration of Life service will be at 7 p.m.
Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Concord, with the Rev. Dr. Steve Fultz, Walter E.
"Wallie" Culbreth and the Rev. Dr. Craig Culbreth officiating. The family will
receive friends at the church following the Celebration Service. Pallbearers
will be her brothers, Walter Culbreth and Bradley Culbreth; cousins, Josh,
Jonathan, Jeremy and Todd Culbreth, Tyler Lee, and Jack Summer. Honorary
pallbearers: members of the Farragut Boys' Soccer Teams for the past four years. The
family and friends will meet Wednesday at Pleasant Forest Cemetery, Concord,
for a 4 p.m. graveside service. The family requests memorials may be made to
Farragut Christian Church, "Prom of the Stars," 138 Admiral Road, Knoxville, TN
37934. Arrangements are by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
Dora Noe Gouge, age 88, a resident of Oliver Springs, passed away Sunday,
Oct. 1, 2006, at the Harriman Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born Jan.
28, 1918, in Harlan, Ky., moving to Oliver Springs in 1931. Before retirement,
she was employed for many years at McCrory's Department Store in Oak Ridge.
She attended Beech Park Baptist Church of Oliver Springs in later years. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Robert Elmer Gouge; daughter, Louise
Singleton; parents, Isom and Minnie Metcalf Noe; granddaughter, Teresa Gouge;
grandson, Tony Harris; brothers, Elijah, Bill, Oscar, Dewey, Robert, Berrie and
James Noe; and sisters, Ellen Butler, Bertha Sampsel and Lucy Noe. Survivors
include her children, Marie Nelson and husband, James of Harriman, Joe Robert Gouge
and wife, Brenda of Oak Ridge, and Bert E. Gouge and wife, Patsy of Wartburg;
seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild;
brother, David Noe and wife, Ann of Oliver Springs; several nieces, nephews
and extended family members. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at Sharp Funeral Home with funeral service following at 8
p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Jerry Noe officiating. Burial and graveside
service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Oliver Springs Cemetery.
Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs is in charge of all the arrangements.
James J. Renc, age 96, born Sept. 25, 1910, in Chicago, passed away at
Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge on Oct. 2, 2006. He went to work at age 15 to
support a family of two parents and two brothers. He worked at RR Donnelley
Printing in Chicago, starting as an apprentice and continuing with the same
company until retirement at the age of 62. He worked part-time at the 1933 Chicago
World's Fair as the boy singer for the Ben Bernie Band, famous for the catch
phrase "Yowzah! Yowzah!" He played minor league baseball in the 1930s. He
married Alice Coombe in 1946 and was happily married for 60 years. Jim lived a
full life and made many friends in Chicago, Florida and North Carolina. Lake
Toxaway, N.C., held a special place in his heart and he was a resident for over 20
years. He and his sons survived an especially tragic accident when a fishing
boat capsized in the Atlantic with the loss of many lives. Although Jim
suffered major injury, he managed to save the life of his youngest son who had been
paralyzed from polio at a young age. He is survived by his loving family, his
wife Alice of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; son, John and his wife, Anne, of Oak Ridge;
son, Bill and his wife, Linda, of Safety Harbor, Fla.; and granddaughter,
Christine Renc Carter and her husband, Scott Carter, of Dunedin, Fla. Jackson-Oliver
Mortuary in Oliver Springs handled the arrangements for the Renc family.
Marjorie L. Robertson, 88, of Leesburg, died at the Leesburg Regional Medical
Center on Friday, Sept. 29, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband, Whitney
Jones Robertson. They moved to the area 22 years ago from Oak Ridge, Tenn.
Eighteen years were spent in Belleview, Fla., and the last four in Leesburg. She
is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Herr (Lee) of Kissimmee. Her
granddaughters are Dyana Burke (Jimmy) of Orlando, and Dana Schafer (Randy) of St. Cloud.
In addition, she has four great-grandchildren: Reagan and Madison Burke and
Logan and Carter Schafer. She also has several nieces and nephews. Mrs.
Robertson was an active member of Cherokee Park in Belleview. She was also a former
member of Belleview United Methodist Church. Memorial donations may be made to
the American Heart Association, PO Box 21475, St. Petersburg, FL 33742.
Services will be held at graveside at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, Fla., and
Saturday, Oct. 7 2006, at 10 a.m. Arrangements by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services
in Belleview, Fla.
Elizabeth Wanda Young, age 71, of Oak Ridge, passed away Monday, Oct. 2,
2006, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak RIdge. Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home is
in charge of the arrangements, which were incomplete at press time.
