Charles Andrew Blake III, known to family and friends as Chuck, died on Oct.
14, 2006, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home in Atlanta, Ga., at age 54 after
a long struggle with brain cancer. Chuck made a lasting impression on all who
knew him because of his unassuming intellect, generous spirit, and keen
insights. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and co-workers. Chuck was
born in Oak Ridge, Tenn., on Feb. 26, 1952, the son of Charles Andrew Blake Jr.,
and Mary Fournad Blake, both deceased. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School
in 1970 and was active with the Boy Scouts, the Oak Ridge Playhouse, and the
Ethel Howell Studio. Chuck attended Tennessee Wesleyan College, where he
pursued his love of literature and writing, especially poetry, which were lifelong
avocations. For the past two decades Chuck Blake has been a resident of
Atlanta, Ga. He was a devoted father to his sons Greyson and Gerald, taking pride in
their accomplishments in school, sports, and work. He also passed on his love
of the outdoors as a volunteer in the Boy Scouts. Chuck was valued as a
friend and a mentor by his long-time co-workers in the Legal Department at Turner
Entertainment and in the Circulation Department at the Atlanta Journal
Constitution. Chuck is survived by his wife, Dorian Stewart Blake of Atlanta; his
sons, Greyson Blake and Gerald Stewart of Atlanta; and his sisters, Wendy Blake of
Woodstock, Ga., and Jody Blake of San Antonio, Texas. Chuck is also
remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews of the Blake and Stewart
families, as well as by his step-mother, Marguerite Blake of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and
her children and their families. A memorial service will be announced at a
future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions
be made to either: The Greyson Blake College Fund through any Bank of America
location; or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home, 760 Pollard Blvd., Atlanta,
Georgia 30315. The Cremation Society of the South is in charge of arrangements.
Harold Anderson Fell, 68, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at his
home. He was born Feb. 26, 1938, in Iuka, Miss. Mr. Fell served with the U.S.
Army from 1963 - 1966, serving in Germany and attaining the rank of 1st
Lieutenant. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and
his master's degree in industrial engineering from the University of
Tennessee. Mr. Fell started his career as a co-op student from Auburn University in
1956 at the Y-12 plant. He retired from BWXT in July 2005 after 44 years in the
Fabrication and Development Divisions at Y-12. He was a member of the English
Auto Society and the Oak Ridge Sportsman Association. He enjoyed classic cars
and collecting pocket watches, clocks and firearms. He also enjoyed spending
time at his home on Watts Bar Lake. He was preceded in death by his father,
William Anderson Fell. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beal Davis Fell, with whom
he would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on Dec. 22, 2006;
son, Timothy Anderson Fell of Kodak; mother, Elsie Borden Fell of Florence; and
numerous cousins and extended family. He is also survived by his cats, Bubba,
Flame and Princess, who were very dear to him. Funeral services are Saturday,
Oct. 21, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with the Rev. Tom Rayford
officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family asks that
any memorials be in the form of contributions to a Humane Society of choice.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at

L. P. "Pete" Vines, 87, of Oak Ridge, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, with his
loving family at his side. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and
grandfather. Mr. Vines was born May 29, 1919, in Clanton, Ala., the son of John
Freeman Vines and Myrtle Mink Vines. Mr. Vines retired from Y-12 where he
worked for 42 years as a general foreman, where he was known as a firm but fair
supervisor. He enjoyed reading, fishing, hiking in the Smoky Mountains and many
outdoor activities. He was also an avid gardener. in addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by sons, Larry Paul Vines, Dec. 24, 1989, and James
Freeman Vines, Jan. 9, 2001; and brother, "Bully" Vines. He is survived by his
wife, Kathleen "Kay" Vines; daughters, Wanda Anita Vines and husband Richard
A. Wallace of Oak Ridge, and Carol Price and husband, William of Powell;
daughters-in-law, Patricia Vines of Virginia Beach, Va., and Anita Vines of Norris;
brother, Donald Ross Vines and wife, Clarice, of Childersburg, Ala.;
sister-in-law, Lillie Mae Vines of Clanton, Ala.; nine grandchildren, Larry Paul
"Lance" Vines Jr., Lynn Pamela Hawver, Laura Paulette Vines, Lane Preston Vines,
Garrett Greysen Ramsey; Sheryl Lee Lambin, John William Price, Jennifer Lynn
Jordan and Wesley "Rooster" Freeman Vines; and numerous great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren. He was respected and loved by all who knew him.
Funeral services are Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, at 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary with
Dr. Rev. Keith Haverkamp officiating. Graveside services are Saturday at 11
a.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Garrett Ramsey, Richard
Wallace, William Price, John Price, David Lambdin and Wesley Vines. A. J.
Norris, Lee Ramsey, Matthew Ramsey and Hillman Wright will serve as honorary
pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at

Robert Earl "Bob" Wyrick, age 72, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday
evening, Oct. 18, 2006, at his home. Bob was a graduate of Central High School,
attended the University of Tennessee, and was retired from Martin Marietta Energy
Systems K-25. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Wanda Ailor Wyrick; and
sons, Mark, Joe and Jim Wyrick and wife Vickie. A Celebration of Life will be
held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at the Click Funeral Home Farragut
Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Click
Funeral Home Farragut Chapel, 11915 Kingston Pike, is serving the Wyrick
family.
Edward Leach, of Petros, died at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge on
Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006. Sharp Funeral Home is handling the arrangements, which
were incomplete at press time.
James Robert Stevenson, 56, of Oak Ridge, passed away at the Methodist
Medical Center on Thursday, October 19, 2006. Weatherford Mortuary is handling the
arrangements, which were incomplete at press time.
