HELP! I've never seen a picture of my gr-grandfather, John Horton Dunagan
(1861-1919), who moved to Carroll Co., TN before 1893 from Harrison Co., MO.
He married (in Carroll Co.) Fannie Horn(e) Jan. 5, 1893, had three children
and was a widower on the 1900 Carroll Co. census. I know nothing about the
Horn(e)'s except they were full or part Native American. On Oct. 11, 1901
John married Dora Hilliard, had five children bet. 1903-1914, and by 1914
moved to Shelby Co., Memphis, TN. All handed down pictures burned up in a
house fire years later.
I am in hopes of connecting to a descendant of Dora Hilliard's parents, Wm.
Elvis Hilliard (1850-1908) and Millert / Millard "Lynn" Taylor (1854-1924),
or one of her sibblings, or the Horn(e) family, that may have a picture of
Dora and John that has been passed down. The Carroll County, TN, Hilliard
connections would be:
Parents / grandparents of Dora Hilliard:Sibblings of Dora Hilliard:
Wm. Elvis Hilliard (1850-1908) son ofLular Lillian Hilliard (1877-1904)
Wm. Jackson Hilliard (1827-1900) son ofWilliam Jackson Hilliard
(1880-1964)
Rightman Hilliard, Jr. (1799-1856) son ofElwood Wilson Hilliard
(1887-1922)
Rightman Hilliard (1763-1840) Gould Hilliard (1889-1939) *
James Hyson Hilliard (1893-1951)*
Warren Hilliard (b. 1896)
Hattie Hilliard (b. 1900)
* My 94-year-old living aunt only remembers meeting her Uncle Gould and
Uncle Hyson from her mother's (Dora Hilliard's) family, so these must have
been the two sibblings that Dora was closest to.
If ANYONE is a descendant of these HILLIARDS, please look through your old
handed down pictures and contact me if you find any picture of Dora and /or
John. Thanks so much!
