Nov. 24, 1938 - April 8, 2004
Patricia Suzanne Susong, 65, 3704 Candy Lane, died at 8:35 a.m. Thursday,
April 8, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hospital in Kokomo.
She was born Nov. 24, 1938, in Claiborne County, Tazewell, Tenn., a daughter
of Benton and Helen (Farmer) Cosby.
She married Don Susong on March 24, 1961.
She graduated from Claiborne County School in 1957 and also graduated from
Knoxville Business College. She retired from the Kokomo-Howard County Public
Library.
She was a member of Indian Heights Baptist Church in Kokomo, where she taught
Sunday school and junior church.
She enjoyed spending time and reading books with her granddaughter Taylor,
and enjoyed reading and playing cards and games with her family.
She is survived by her husband, her mother, Helen Cosby of Maryville, Tenn.;
a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Missy Susong of Kokomo, a granddaughter,
Taylor Susong, sisters and brothers-in-law Gail and Gary Brown and Carol
Carter, all of Maryville, Tenn.; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Robin Cosby
of Franklin, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Cosby of Kingsport, Tenn.;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bill and Lou Susong and Madge Susong of
Morristown, Tenn. and Jeannie Susong of High Point, N.C., and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Cosby, and her father.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at Fenn-Shirley
Mortuary Colonial Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road. The Rev. Jerry Adamson will
officiate. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fenn-Shirley Mortuary Colonial
Chapel. Stout & Son Funeral Home and Fenn-Shirley Mortuary are in charge of
arrangements.
