Laura "Suze" Brogan, age 87, of Tazewell, passed away October 25, 2007 at
her home.

She was a member of Grissom Island Baptist Church. She retired from Donlin
Shirt Factory. A lot of folks know her as "Suze" but we all called her
"Nanny". She loved little children and became "Nanny" to many people. She was always
ready to cook when anyone came by for a visit. Three of her best items were:
Biscuits, Turkey Dressing and Red Tater Gravy. "Nanny, we thank you for the
love, guidance and heritage you handed down. We appreciate your
encouragement, apologize for the disappointments and are so glad you adopted Frankie,
Berneda and Cathy and raised Nikkie as your own children." We will miss you
greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents: Wiley and Nancy Lee Manning;
husband: George Brogan; children: Panky, Frank and Betty Brogan; great
grandchildren: Justin Brogan, Brandon Seals and Mikey Epperson.

Laura leaves behind her daughter: Josie Vanover; 11 grandchildren: Mona and
Roger Bolden, Lewis "Dude" and Cindy Vanover, Meta Vanover, Floyd and Leann
Vanover, Gina and Nathan Taylor, Nancy Singleton, Nina Brogan, Frank and Kim
Brogan, Berneda Presley, Cathy Brogan, Nikkie Brogan; 16 great grandchildren:
Robert and Samantha Bolden, Hannah and Ethan Vanover, Tyler Partin and John
Taylor, Charles and Brianna Singleton, Taneka and Keisha Dalton, Jessica and
Kellie Brogan, Lacey and husband James Fender; one great great grandchild:
James Albert Fender III (Jimmy); sisters: Margaret Griffin, Mary and Clarence
Cook, Myrtle Boatright; uncle: Rev. and Mrs. Fred Manning; sisters-in-law:
Velva Manning and Berneda Hipshire; many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were Sunday, October 28 at 2 p.m. in the Coffey Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Stevie Johnson and Billy Smith officiating. Songs by
Harville Trio. Burial in the Brogan Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Warren G. Brogan, Junior Manning, Robert Powell, Chad Seal,
Dale Seal, Brandon Powell. Honorary Pallbearers: Charles Singleton, John Taylor,
Tyler Partin, Robert Bolden, Josh Bunch and Travis Bunch.

Joanne Hill, age 76, of New Tazewell, was born December 13, 1930 and passed
away October 26, 2007 at the University Of Tennessee Hospital.

She was a member of Lone Holly Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
She ran a flea market booth for many years. She was a very out going active
member of the Senior Citizens. She retired from Tektronics in Oregon as quality
control technician. She was the widow of Dewey C. Hill, Jr., since 1994; and
also preceded in death by her parents: Theodore Chester Hundley and Thelma
Gladys "Spike" Kindell Hundley; sisters: Phyllis Hundley and Mary Lou Olson

She is survived by her daughter: Dianna Hill of Tazewell; son: Alan Hill of
California; grandchildren: Kendra Hill, Justin Hunt, Moriah Honchell; great
grandchildren: Stephanie Dawn Jarrett, Tiffany Campbell and Genevia Leonard;
sister: Sandra Evans of Oregon; brother: Jerry Hundley of Oregon; several
nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 31 at 2 p.m. in the Coffey
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Baker officiating. Songs by Lone Holly Singers.
Harpist will be Mrs. Gail Duncan. Burial in the Brewster Cemetery in New

Pallbearers: Randy Love, John England, Loye Meyers, James Love, Jeremy
Whitaker, Bernard Coffey. Honorary Pallbearers: Barney Harlen, Rick Love, Brady
Shelton, Anthony Cupp, Burgin Crutchfield, Bryan West.

Billy Gene Shupe, age 75, of Clear Lake City, Texas, was born on Dec. 3,
1931 and passed away October 20, 2007.

He was the son of Clifford And Della Shupe of Harrogate. He was married to
Namiko (Toshi) Kibayashi for 50 years. Billy Grew up on a farm in Tazewell and
had a passion for gardening throughout his life. He loved to spend time
telling stories about growing up on a farm, his 21 years in the Air Force, life
in Japan, and just about anything family and friends wanted to talk about.

Surviving Billy are his daughters: Carol Shupe and Pamela Shupe-Lyden with
her husband John; son: Terry Shupe and his wife Belinda; grandchildren:
Heather and T.J. Shupe and Kelsey Lyden; two great grandchildren: Jake and Peyton
and numerous friends.

A visitation was held on Tuesday October 23 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Crowder
Funeral Home in Texas. Visitation was 1:30 until 2:30 Friday, October 26 at
the Coffey Funeral Home with funeral service following at 2:30 p.m. in the
Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Fultz officiating. Interment will
follow at Forge Ridge Cemetery in Harrogate with Military Honors, where Billy
will join his mother, father and several other family members.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Billy's honor to the Forge

Woodrow Sweet, age 84, of New Tazewell, was born May 1, 1923 and passed away
on October 26, 2007.

He was a member of Little Barren Baptist Church. He worked at Marlock in
Maynardville, helped build the first telephone line in Claiborne county and
farmed. He was preceded in death by parents: John and Sally Stansberry Sweet;
brothers: Roy and Troy Sweet and James Sweet; sisters: Jean Regeal and Laura
Sweet; grandson: Jasper Sweet.

He is survived by sons: J.W. and Debra Sweet of New Tazewell, Jerry and
Pamela Sweet of Maynardville, Danny and Brenda Sweet of Maynardville, Jake and
Missy Sweet of New Tazewell, Mark Sweet of New Tazewell; grandchildren: Dawn
and John Sweet, Candi Green, Joshua Sweet, Angela Edmonson, Jessica Reanee
Sweet, Tyler Sweet, Jessie Sweet; 15 great grandchildren; half sister: Joyce
Sweet of Indiana; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Monday, October 29 at 11 a.m. in the Coffey Funeral
Home Chapel in Tazewell with Rev. Greg Sharp officiating. Songs by Richard and
Linda Nicely. Burial in the Big Barren Cemetery.

James "Jim" Floyd White, age 48, of Powell, formerly of Fratersville, was
born October 5, 1959 in Anderson County and passed away Monday, October 22,
2007 at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of Powell, TN Fraternal Order
of Eagles Number 3559. He was preceded in death by his father: Jimmie White;
grandparents: Albert "Jack" and Lillian Scarbrough; mother-in-law: Thelma
Cottrell; brother-in-law: Doug Cottrell.

Survivors include his wife of 13 years: Carol Cottrell White of Powell;
daughter: Heather Wilson and husband Mark of Powell; sons: Dustin White of
Fratersville, Jarett White of Knoxville; mother: Carolyn White of Fratersville;
grandchildren: Emily Wilson, Charleigh White, Brady Wilson, born 2 days after
his papaw Jim's passing; sister-in-law: Cathy Cottrell, Gloria Cottrell, Teresa
Palozzolo and husband Joe; brother-in-law: Terry Cottrell; niece: Tiffani
Cottrell; father-in-law: Keith Cottrell of Arthur.

Funeral services were Friday, October 26 at Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Archie Seiber and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Number 3559
officiating. Interment in the Seiber Cemetery in Briceville.

Pallbearers: Ralph Watzlawick, Ronnie Carter, Gordon Whitsell, David Day,
Leon Kesterson and J.R. Bolden. Honorary pallbearers: Terry Cottrell, Joe
Palozzolo, Chip Carter and Danny Crowley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for expenses.
