--Elijah TURNER, b. c1799 in SC, m. Anne BENNETT, b. c1805 in SC, migrated to
Cocke Co. prior to 1850 census.
CHILDREN: “Pink”; George; John; Elijah; and either a son Parmenter (per
1850 census) or a daughter Parmelia (per 1860 census) or both.
--Jesse FOX, b. c1784 in TN, m. Catherine NAILLON, b. c1807 in NC, (Note:
Catherine is the dau of Patrick NAILLON, b. 1769 in County Cork, Ireland, and
I believe Jesse is the son of Andrew and Sarah FOX of Greene Co., but have no
proof, as yet)
CHILDREN: Robert; McClure; Sarah; Jesse; Andrew Jackson; Henry; Julia; and
Isaac William)
---“Pink” TURNER (given name is probably Pinkton or Pinkerton), b. c1827 in
SC, m. Sarah FOX, b. c1830 in TN
CHILDREN: Lizzy Ann; Jesse Millard Filmore; William Elijah; Isaac; Thomas;
Sarah; and Martha.
----Jesse Millard Filmore TURNER (always called Phil or Philip, which
probably started from shortening his given name, Filmore) b. 10-14-1858 in
Cocke Co., TN, m. Margaret Levina BLACK, b. 2-20-1859, dau of James P. BLACK
and Mary Howard DYKES of Washington Co., TN.
CHILDREN: John Edward; William Charlie; Joseph Millard; Flora Ellen; James
Isaac; Jesse Robert; Leora Jane, and Walter Harrison.
-----(My parents): James Isaac TURNER, b. 4-21-1891 in Cocke Co., TN, m.
Maude Ann COLE, b. 1-19-1895 in Cocke Co., TN, dau of Hardy Smith COLE and
Syreptia Fidelia HANEY, (Note: Hardy Smith COLE is the son of Joel Hardy COLE
and Harriet Elmira PENLAND; Syreptia Fidelia HANEY is the dau of Charlie
HANEY.)
Any help in filling in the blanks would be greatly appreciated.
