I'm researching all of Cocke County. My current project is gleening
genealogical information from Cocke County wills. Attached is the list of
names I have so far in my database. My will code includes the first and last
page the testator's will appears on.
The microfilm I have says the wills start 1876, but there are many wills
dated earlier than that. Apparently there was an act passed authorization
folks to bring in wills and have them re-recorded after the courthouse file.
Some wills date prior to the Civil War.
This roll of microfilm is available from the Tennessee State Library and
Archives or your neighborhood Mormon Family History Center.
