By changing the subject line for a posting would be very helpful, especially for someone who views the postings at a later time.
It appears many individuals have not looked at documentation.
I have located numerous records for my ancestors that resided in Cocke County in Greene County. Early settlers migrated to Greene County, to Cocke or Sevier and many went as far as Blount County. Don't forget to look this ajoining counties. Greene County was the parent county of Jefferson County and Jefferson County was the parent County of Cocke County.
Knoxville was the capital of TN prior to Nashville and I've located records there as well.
