Subject: [TNDEKALB] Benjamin Curtis [b-1815 TN] shows in DeKalb Co. TN in 1837

Benjamin Curtis [b-1815 TN] shows in DeKalb Co. TN in 1837 in the
portion of the county that was taken from Smith Co. that year. He had
Thomas [b-1827] &
William C. [b-1831 ] living with him in the 1850 Tn census. Relation
unknown. There was a John Curtis [b-1807 NC] living close to him. These
four men had families and stayed in Dekalb Co. TN. William [ my wife's
line] was killed at Shiloh during the CW. Benjamin & John show at the
same time which indicates that they were living in Smith Co. at the time
that
Dekalb was formed. Their children were born in Tn. starting in the
1830's. There was a Moses Curtis in Smith Co. TN from the mid teens to
1828 when he received a land grant Thank you so much for any help that
you might give me. The Jackson Co. Curtis Lines were near this location.
