I have Celia Afton (or Ann) Steele as the daughter of Alexander Steele and
Lucy Compton. You indicate she was probably a daughter of Alex's brother
John Steele and Jane Compton. Do you have any additional info indicating
the link to John vice Alex?

Archibald Buchanan Steele, son of Andrew Steele and Martha Buchanan, moved
to Amite County, Mississippi.
Samuel Steele lived out his life in Davidson County, TN.
Eli and Mary Steele LaFever had Martha Steele living with them. She was
mentally retarded, and died fairly young. Eli LaFever and Andrew LaFever
Jr. were brothers, and sons of Andrew LaFever Sr. (1774-1847) and Nancy Ard,
who settled about 1830 or so in White County. They were potters.
John Steele's probable other daughter was Celia Steele who married Andrew
LaFever Jr. and they also were my gg grandparents.
Their daughter Louisa Ann LaFever was born 1847 and married William Henry
Harrison Judd, son of Nathaniel Jackson Judd and Rebecca Nancy Grimes, 1862
at Bunker Hill, Putnam County, TN.
Louisa died 1925 and is buried at the William Judd cemetery in the twin
oaks community of Putnam County. Their daughter Leitha Catherine Judd
(1877-1941) was my maternal grandfather William Logan Rice's mother. She
married William A. Rice, son of Marion Rice and Mary Jane Myers, in 1893. He
died after accidentally shooting himself in 1909, and Leitha then married
William Travis Hickey in 1915. Trab Hickey married Cappie (Hedgecough)
Sherrill after Leitha's death, and he died in 1962.
