Hi Maud,

DeKalb County was formed in 1837/1838 from the counties of Cannon, Jackson, Warren
and White.

Bear Branch (stream) is in many counties. But Bear Branch (populated place,
historical) is in DeKalb County on the Debrell USGS Map. On the map it appears to
be South of Smithville, the county seat, near the Warren County line.
