Sometimes there is additional information on the actual entry in the clerk's
book. It depends on a number of things. You will be more likely to find
additional info on marriages between 1830 and 1860 or so. Dates are not hard. In
other words the later the marriage the less likely to find more information. I've
transcribed many marriages from Indep Co AR. Various items found have been:
age of groom and bride, county if not from Indep., with consent of
bride's/groom's parents (lets you know they were alive then even if names not given)
sometimes at the home of the bride/groom, witness names, Mrs. if previously
married, col. for colored.
You need someone to actually look at the record to determin if any additional
information is there. That's why my books that I've transcribed are so
helpful than just a bride/groom/date listing. Of course, sometimes, I'd be estatic
to have even that. LOL
