Elijah Smith lived in Smith County until 1855 when Wolf Creek area became
part of the new County of Putnam. In 1856 it became the Old 16th District of
DeKalb Co., TN. Elijah lived in Smith County along the old boundary line between
Jackson and Smith County. His parents were George Smith and Silvey Unknown
