Okay, in Land Deed Genealogy of Dekalb County, TN 1838-1869 there is a
listing for a Reuben B. Hale on p. 255
"Reuben B. Hale, a private of Lieutenant H.T. Robinson's Company K, 5th
Regiment of Tennessee Cavalry Volunteers, was enrolled on 6 Jun 1863 to
serve three years or during the War. He is hereby discharged from the
service of the United States this 14 Aug 1865 in Pulaski. Said Hale was
born in Smith County, is 31 years of age, 5 feet, 7 inches high, dark
complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and by occupation a farmer. Discharged
at Pulaski. 14 Aug 1865. (p.501-502)".

There are no listings for Reuben Hale or Reuben Hail in Dekalb County

In Dekalb Co. Marriages 1848-1880
p. 10 -- Reuben B. Hale to Catharine Vantrease 8-17-1853

No listing for Reuben Hail or Reuben Hale in Dekalb Co., TN Genealogy from
Administrator's Settlement Books 1846-1907.

In Dekalb County Cemeteries by Doris Gilbert on p. 80 in Curtis Cemetery,
there is a listing for a R.B. Hale -- April 5, 1832 - April 25th, 1896.
Next to him is a Sarrah C. Hale -- Aug 16, 1835 - July 23rd, 1934.

I don't know if any of this information is helpful to you, but I hope that
it is.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Message Board Post:

Hello: I hope that you can help me. In 1802 Reuben Hail was born
somewhere in Tennessee. He was in the 1830 census of Smith County. He may
have lived in that part of the county that became part of DeKalb County,
Tennessee. I need to find who his parents were. There was another Reuben
Hail/Hale who was born in the 1840's and served in the Union Army during the
Civil War. I do not know if these two men were related. I would like
to know who Reuben's(1802) parents were. Any information about them would
be appreciated. Reuben (1802) left Tennessee in the 1830's and went to
Missouri. He died in California in 1873. I do not know exactly where the
1802 Reuben lived when he lived in Smith County. I would like to know if
the 1802 Reuben lived close to other Hail/Hale families when he lived there.
Any help you could give me would be appreciated. brian in springfield
missouri
