F. Patterson and wife Catharine, daughter of said Daniel Smith, Sr.; W. H. Irwin and wife Sarah, also a daughter of said Daniel Smith, and they are all of Smith County; and Daniel Smith, Jr. of Dekalb County. Daniel Smith departed this life in the winter of 1844, intestate, leaving the said widow and above named children, making eight in number. The said Doak Young is willing to make settlement, but some dissatisfaction among the heirs has arisen. He cannot make settlement without more knowledge of the estate. 10 Sep 1844. (p396-404).
