Hi Suzanne (and Caroline) - Would you have time to
check your resources to see if there are any more
references to the name "Teas" in the early Dickson
County Records?

The James Teas who was a witness with James
Gilmore and Matthew Gilmore was my great, great
grandfather. The Joseph Teas and William Teas
were James' brothers. James Teas married Anna
Gilmore. Anna was born about 1786. I'm not at all
sure who Anna's parents were.

I "want" to believe that Anna's father was James
Gilmore (older brother to Matthew) but I can't prove it
at this time.

I also believe there is some connection with the
Teas family and the families of Thomas Gray and
Robert Norris.

The Teas family lived on Yellow Creek in Dickson
County. Family tradition says "near where Cedar
Creek empties into Yellow Creek.?

Most of the Teas family moved from Dickson County
to Humphreys County about 1810 - at least the
"boys" did - I have no idea how many girls there were
and who they married (unless they married into the
Gray and Norris families).

Any help would be most appreciated.
