Hi Karen,
I've given just a brief outline of the Jackson family that I have. I just recently received a copy of a probate record where Mitchell was named as one of the heirs of Willis Jackson along with the other children mentioned below. I have included, in blue, a note about Mitchell's 2nd wife. Also, I was recently told by a Jackson researcher that it was probably Mitchell's brother, Wesley, who went to TX rather than Mitchell as has been reported before. However, I have not had confirmation of this. I know that Mitchell was Angelica's 2nd husband (I descend from Angelica and her first husband, Daniel Rook) because of her father's will which states that he was the husband of his deceased dtr. and because of court records concerning the guardianship of her children with her 1st husband.
Do you have any information on Mitchell? I will be glad to share what I have with you which was shared with me by the Jackson researcher I mentioned. Even though this is not my direct line his children were ½ siblings to my ancestor so I am trying to collect all I can about the Jackson family.
Jean
Descendants of Willis Jackson, Sr.
1 Willis Jackson, Sr. 1766 - 1832 b: Abt. 1766 in Lunenburg, Virginia d: March 12, 1832 in Dickson Co., Tennessee

......... *2nd Wife of [1] Mitchell Jackson:

Note: Tennessee Jane "Gency" Whitehead has not been proven to have been the 2nd wife of Mitchell Jackson. A Mitchell Trotter was married to a Jane Trotter from Hinds Co., MS after Angelica's death and Mitchell has been proven to have been in Hinds Co. about this same time period. "Gency" Whitehead Trotter was Angelica's sister and she was married to George Trotter of Hinds Co. George Trotter died about the same time as Angelica (1835-1837). So far this is just supposition on my part, however since "Gency" seems to have been a nickname for Jane, and men tended to remarry a sister of their deceased wife it is a logical supposition for the moment.
......... 2 Burrell Jackson 1808 - b: Abt. 1808
............. +Eliza Beth Harris m: October 22, 1827 in Davidson Co., Tennessee

Jean,
Who were the parents of Mitchell? I'm descended from Willis Jackson and Mary
Elizabeth Lnu. I have a Mitchell as their son but don't have a wife listed.
Could this be the same person?
There is a Jackson Chapel Church Cemetery outside of Ashland City where I
live that has lots of Jackson's buried there. I visited there a couple of
years ago and took some photographs. I'll dig them out and see if I can find
a match.
Karen
