Subject: [TNGIBSON] apology for Mr Coleman
Date: Tue, 25 Apr 2000 22:58:41 -0500

Mr. Coleman, in response to your below email, I am sure that the people of
Milan are glad to have your store. I know I would not want to be in a town
without one.

Having been to Milan and being raised in Jackson I know that Milan is not a
very large town and word of mouth will probably travel faster than your
posting on the list.

I took your post as spam, but took it lightly. After re reading my post, I
can see where it might not have come across as friendly as I meant it to be.
I intended it to be witty regarding my ancestors. I'm certainly not trying
to black ball your establishment, just expressing my frustration at
receiving junk email. It happens everyday at the mail box, I just prefer it
not happen on my computer. Since I am not the list owner, it was not my
place to judge your post. I should have just deleted it, but of all the
lists I am on, the Gibson Co list is most dear. The dedicated people of
Gibson Co and across the country make the list enjoyable to read even when
it provides no information for my line. So I did feel somewhat aggravated
when I saw your post. I guess my aggravation got the best of me.

I am also glad to see you too enjoy Genealogy, I don't recall stating
otherwise though, I thank you for your work and contributions you have made.
And no, I did not state that I was unable to reach you, your email address
and web site were clearly stated in your post. You simply posted to a mail
list, I responded the same way.

If everyone on this list started advertising their business then there would
be very little Genealogy and allot more spam. I only feel that a list
dedicated to anything should not be used by others to promote their
business. I don't advertise mine, and Milan is in our territory.

After stating the above, if you are still upset, I apologize. I have
submitted this to the list to show that I am not trying to disrupt your
business, only disagree with you methods of advertisement. I am sure that
people will take my ramblings with a grain of salt anyway. If I lived in
Milan and you were the only computer store I would take me with a grain of
salt. Heck, I take me like a grain of salt anyway.

John

o.k now you are talking to the person that sent the message out.

I do not appreciate that remark. That message was not Spam in any way. I
just happened to be trying to notify people in Gibson County about the new
store, infact this store is Milan's First Computer Store.

If you don't think I have any thing to do with research you need to look at
a site I put together: http://oldshiloh.cjb.net that's the Old Shiloh
Cemetery of Humboldt Tennessee.

Oh by the way did you say that you were unable to contact me?
