I was in Giles County a few weeks ago and again last week and have found that MTSU is doing research on family farms in TN that are still owned by the same family over 100 years. My farm was bought by my g grandfather in 1881 making it 122 years in the same family. I was wondeing how many more farms or family business out there were still owned by the same family. I know Abernathy Hardware is over 100 yrs old but do not know if still owned by the same family. I know there is a Norwood farm near Punchenon that is still or I believe owned by a decendant of the Norwood family. And the Cox family still owns a farm on Sugar Creek owned my Parminous Cox who's father bought in the early 1800's. ( Parminous now well over 90 yrs old) but have no clue to anymore farms or Business still owned by the orgional families might be some interesting things in this for our research.
