Robert G. Steele was the son of Thomas Steele of North Carolina. He married a Graves. This family appears to be well-documented on the Giles county GenWeb.

My grandfatherx4 was Robert Steele (no G). He and his wife Elizabeth Wilson lived in Giles County prior to 1812,(married in Botetourt County, VA) and then removed to Pike County MO. He and she divorced after he left for the War of 1812 and never returned, and it is thought that he returned to Giles County where his family lived. I know there were other Steeles besides the Thomas Steele family referenced above. My Robert Steele must be one of those other families. He was a colonel in the War of 1812. any leads?
