Hello, I am new to the list. I am looking for information about a Griffin
family that may have been in the Grainger Co. area in the early 1800's. My
ancestor, Nelson GRIFFIN, was born between 1795-1800, he was probably born
in TN (but one census states NC), according to census data his father was
born in PA, mother in TN. He married in Jefferson Co. in 1821 to Hannah COX
and then again in Jefferson Co. in 1822 to Peggy REECE. They later went to
Henry Co, TN, then finally settled in Stewart Co., TN. I cannot connect him
to any GRIFFIN family in Jefferson Co. and was told there are GRIFFINS in
Grainger during this time frame. Nelson's children are as follows:
William A. (1826-)
Nancy Ann (1830-)
Albert J. (1832->1860)
Elizabeth (1834-1875)
Samuel Houston (1836-1913)
Thomas (1838-)
Sarah (Sallie Ann) (1841-)
Henry Riggs (1845-1923)
