Don't think so, Ralph-the marriage license was as Elijah Bibbins; a court
case re unpaid taxes was Bibbins; females dying in Grainger Co. in 1904 &
1909 were Amanda and Eliza Bibbins; and their children were Joseph mar.
Sarah Hodge; Frances Jane mar. Woodson T. Daniel,(two of Amanda's); and
Robert mar. Cordelia Pinion (Eliza's son); and a John, possibly mar. to
Sarah Crews,- his discharge record in court - all used the double B. My
grgrgrandfather mar. in Jefferson Co. 1848 as Bivens, yet it was Bibbins in
1860 census in MO and ended as Bibens in Kansas from 1870 to today. But, 2
daus. (1 each of Amanda & Eliza), it would seem, used Bivens, Darthula to
mar. John Hixson, and an F.A. to mar. David Whitt It is the relationship of
all these people to Elijah & Franky/Frances (Solomon/an)Bibbins that is
giving me fits. Hoping for a breakthrough in 2002.
Thanks, Eleanor

Could some clerk have written "Bibbins" for, say, "Bivens?"

Thanks, Ralph - appreciate your help. I bounced my own post last night, had
dropped the "G" when upgrading address book and didn't catch it. So just
treated my to-be-sent message as a forward. Crazy, I know.
In the meantime, may I extend to all on the list best wishes for the
remainder of the holiday season. May 2002 be a more peaceful year for all
of us. And, may we all have at least one "success" in the ancestor hunting
department.
I have enjoyed reading all the messages, have learned more about Grainger
Co.and have put "faces" on many of those names I keep seeing in the census
records, through each of you. Maybe 2002 will bring some "face" to my
Franky
Soloman/on Bibbins-she continues to elude Bibbins descendants researching
her.
Merry Christmas to ALL!
