You may want to check Burke Co. NC. The Partons (various spellings) who
were on the 1850 Greene Co TN (exluding Riley) had been in then Burke Co.
NC in the area of Crooked Creek which is now McDowell Co. NC. There were
Arwoods in that area. Earlier Arwood families back into colonial times
often used the "Arrowood" or "Arrowwood" spellings. The 1850 Greene Co
census is on-line. Check the Arwoods there and see if they weren't born
in NC.
