Hi list, I ran across the following paragraph and noticed the name Dickson.
Does anyone have any info on where this family came from? I have a will for
a James dickson, Baltimore MD, witnessed by Daniel hastings in 1769. I'm
researching Daniel Haston/Hastings of Knox - White Co TN.Thanks, Sherry
Bert Hays, Confederate, got most of the credit for most of the killing in
thisarea (that is according to "Bugger Saga"). Bert, his brother Lawson,
and histhree brothers-in-law, Polk, Perry and Brown Cantrell were all in "G"
company,First Confederate Cavalry along with three of my g/g/grandfathers,
Redden Reynolds, Charles Cagle and Jemes George Dickson. J. G. Dickson's
sister wasNancy E. Dickson who married William Roan Porter. With the
exception of Charley Cagle, all of the people mentioned above includingDavid
H. Davis, William Roan Porter, Brance Davis, Tom Huggins and Emerson who
supposedly killed Brance Davis and Tom Huggins, lived in the same general
area on the headwaters of Turkey, Rogers and Horse Creek in southeast Hardin
County.
