Am looking for : PVT. HAWKINS, WILLIAM B. Co. “A” 3rd Calvary. Enl 29th July 1861 at Pocahontas, Ar. Regimental musician. Wounded in cheek at Corinth, Ms. Paroled 5 May, 1865 at Chester, S.C. Res: Dallas Co., Ark. Possible grave sites Dallas county Ark. Lot 47 B. Clark county 221A. DoB 12/27/1850 DoD 4/6/1876. Known to have been in Tennessee, also.
Am searching for his burial site. A proprietor of an antique store which I shopped has Hawkins headstone and only wants it placed at Hawkin’s grave. Hours have been spent on line just to get the above info but, still no cemetery can I find to contact. Hopes are the cemetery will have it sent back. Proprietor does not wish any monies for the headstone,
Please help me and Hawkins, if you can.
Sincerely,
Sandy DeLaMater
