Researchers,

Someone suggested that I check in Lawrence County, TN for my great-great
grandmother's DALTON family. She was Rhoda DALTON WATKINS. Rhoda was born
ca. 1820 in TN (as per the census). In 1838, Rhoda married John WATKINS in
Lauderdale Co., AL. Rhoda died before the 1870 census. (John WATKINS was
born ca. 1807, VA.)
Their children were:

1) Matlida Ann, b. ca. 1839,
m. Henry J. White (?)
2) Joel, b. ca. 1841/41
3) Elizabeth Jane, b. ca. 1842/43
4) James Thomas, b. 1844, CSA
5) Louisa/Levenia, b. ca. 1845/47
6) Selada/Caladonia, b. ca. 1847/49
7) Annaliza/Ann Liza, b. 1849
m. James Newton CLEMMONS
8) John R., b. 1851
9) Charlotte, b. ca. 1853 (my line)
m. Silas Pinkney CLEMMONS
10) Josephine, b. 1855
11) Charles Andrew, b. 1857
12) Martha/Mattie Omelia, b. ca. 1859/60
m. William W. Watkins (?)

I have scattered records of DALTONS that were in the area at the time Rhoda
would have still been at home. I hope there is someone out there that has
info on this line.
