Gosh, Margaret, you LIVE in Lincoln County! Do you know Russ and Dora
Ellen (Neece) O'Neal, and Wayne and Joe Neece?
If you have connections to Ezekiel Norris, your REALLY go back to
Lincoln County's roots! It must be fun to live there and be able to
trace your roots in the same county for 200 years.
I have not seen the McMillen name associated with my Jefferson County
move, but I will watch for it. I'm going to guess he may have arrived
with an earlier group, though. Are you sure his marriage in 1814 was
his first? That would make him 30 years old, unusual for a first
marriage. Was the land bought after his marriage the earliest land
deeds you find? Were there any in Jefferson County? Did his parent
make the move? Any brothers or sisters? Did they make the move? If
so, look at birth dates/places of his sibling's offspring to try to pin
down the dates.
Thanks for the note. Let me know if any of these suggestions turn up
anything.
