Joyce,
Thank you very much. Lorri and both have a John Caldwell that we are
working on. We were given information that the Edmund Caldwell that was
b. in 1817 and d. abt 1883 was a Samuel Caldwell.
I have the same book, and it says that this is a Samuel Caldwell. I do
not have any information on a Edmund Caldwell in LCT.
Thank you for your help. Nothing helps like someone actually being
there and looking at the original source.
This is not the father of Lorri's John Caldwell no matter what his name
is since he was born in 1817. Her John Caldwell was born in 1813, my
John B. Caldwell was born in 1799.
Lorri's John Caldwell is in LCT in 1840 then he moves to Marshall
County.
My John B. Caldwell is in LCT in 1820, 1830, 1840 and 1850. He Then
dissapears. He and his two son's were in the civil war and my John died
in the battle of Port Huron in 1863.
Ken Moore

Re: Caldwell Cemetery
I visited this cemetery several years ago. An elderly gentleman took me there (now deceased).
This cemetery is located on what he called the "Reed family homeplace." According to my notes, I could only read two of the markers:
Mary J. Caldwell
Born 8-15-1859
Died 9-21-1875 Age 16 years
Edmund Caldwell
Born 3-21-1817
Died 8-5-1883 age 66 years, 4 months, 24 days
My grandfather, James Carroll Reed's sister Harriet Caldonia Reed, born 26th January, 1872 married a John William Caldwell.
