Hope this helps someone. Am computer illiterate, I guess. Can't seem to get a
simple document transfered to an attachment. Would send in loads of files to
US Genweb if I could figure out how to send it thru AOL. In the meantime, it

To: Deed } Whereas we Jacob R Wright and wife Harriett
Wright for & in
J M Swanner } consideration of the sum of one hundered and seven
dollars to us in hand paid or secured to be paid by J M Swanner have this day
bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain sell transfer and
convey to the said J M Swanner his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract
piece or parcel of land situated located and being in the State of Tennessee
Lincoln county Civil District No 15 on the waters of Swan Creek. Beginning
at a stake in the east boundary line of John T Wilson running thence south 72
1/2 deg east 20 poles to a white oak, thence north 14 1/2 deg west 32 poles
and 15 links to a stake, thence north 4 deg west 41 1/2 poles to a white ash,
thence east 26 poles to a beech, thence south 4 degrees east 66 poles to the
beginning, containing by estimation ten acres & 129 poles be the same more or
less. To have and to hold the same tract or piece of parcel of land with all
the improvements thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining to ho\im the
said J M Swanner his heirs and assigns to his and their only proper use
benefit & behalf forever for themselves their heirs administrators and
representatives, covenants promise & agree to and with the said J M Swanner
his heirs and assigns that the title to the above tract or parcel of land
they will warrant and forever defend against the legal title or claims to the
same either in law or equity. In witness whereof we hereunto set our hands
and seals this the 4th day of December 1878

Lincoln county } Personally appeared before me, Paul D Boyce clerk of
the county court and satate A S Templeton and E S Wilson subscribing
witnesses to the foregoing instrument with whom I am personally acquiainted,
who being first duly sworn depose and say that they are personally acquainted
with Jacob R Wright the bargainor and that he acknowledged the same in their
presence to be his act and deed for the purpose therein contained. Witness my
hand at office in Fayetteville this 6th day of October 1879. T D

You are hereby authorized and empowered to take the examination of Mrs Hariat
Wright, privately and apart from her husband, relative to the free execution
of the within instrument and the same so taken to certify under your hand and

April 1879.

personally appeared before me and having by virtue of he authority in me
vested been examined privately and apart from her husband and she having
acknowledged the due execution of the within instrument by her freely,
voluntarily and understndingly without compulsion or constraint by her
husband and for the puroposes therein expressed, the same is therefore
certified. Witness by my hand and seal this 4 day of October 1879
