Are there histories that deal specifically with the Black
Dutch/Irish/etc. by reputable scholars? I know there are theories, but
to my knowledge, there's little if any evidence supporting most of them
(although, some are more likely than others). I do believe you're right
that these terms are fairly recent -- I haven't seen such references
before the 1860s-70s. Anyone know of earlier mentions??
