Part of the Smith line went to Jack county Texas after the Civil War. This
was the line of Joseph/David D./Ransom. Also, some of the Davidsons who
were related via Martha "Patsy" Davidson who married David D. Smith ended
up in Texas. The Davidsons were very politically endowed. Ransom Smith was
the son of David D. and served in the Civil War. There were many other
families from the Lincoln/Moore/ Coffee Co. area/Madison Co. Ala. that
headed to Texas. Many settled in the Clay Co./Jack Co./Bowie Co. area and
there abouts.

Carmen McDaniel Forbes
