Brenda,
Have you looked at a census as to where your McGinnis came from?
There was a James McGinnis who md a female Cobb her name not known.
Some of the family came from Halifax Co, Va to Lincoln Co, N.C.
Course this maybe to early for your ancestor she was born ca 1761/65 time
period.
But I would like to know more about your family to see if I can make a
connection to my Cobbs.
They were in Franklin County and Lincoln and Bedford counties.
