I relate to the Sawyers of LCT doubly. Zara Jefferson Sawyers Sr.'s daughter
Mary Ann married George W. Massey, and they are my gggrandparents, through
their son James Columbus Massey, father of Birdie Della Massey Swiney, my
paternal grandmother. The other connection is Sera Jefferson Sawyers Jr.
married Martha Caroline Swiney, daughter of John Swiney, 1818-1893, a sister
to my paternal ggrandfather John Alexander Swiney. There are a couple of
other indirect marriages with Tipps etc.
