Rachel Lorene Smith, 92, of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday (March 24, 2004) at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.



Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late J.W. and Anna Spray McAlister and stepdaughter of the late Agnes Moore McAlister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late Elbert Buron Smith; and a brother, Carl McAlister. Survivors include her sons, Terrell B. Smith and wife, Linda, of Murfreesboro, and Aubrey G. (Gayle) Smith of Peachtree City, Ga.; grandchildren, David Smith, Johnathan Smith, Vance Watson and Holly Smith; great-grandchild, Lauren Smith; and brothers, Knox McAlister and Herman McAlister of Fayetteville. Funeral services were held Saturday at Jennings & Ayers Chapel with the Rev. Murray Mathis officiating. Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
