When I lost my mom and dad, I lost not only their company I lost a valued sourch of my ancestors' history. I have taken up genealogy as a hobby.... It is addictive and so very interesting. I have come to a complete stand still with respect to my dad's mother's family. My grandmother's maiden name was Lacey Ophelia Webb. She was born, according to my dad's birth certificate, in Maury County on the 16th of May 1898. She married my grandfather, Elliott Martin Cathey some time around 1916. Pappy Cathey was born in Marshall County on the 13th of September 1898.
My grandmother's father was J. M. Webb, b. 1854,
d. 1923. Her mother was Pamelia P. Duncan, b. 1870, d. 1945. Both of my g-grandparents are buried, along with a son, Claiborne Webb, in Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison, Davidson County, Tennessee.
Can someone out there in cyber world help me find which Webbs and Duncans to whom I am related?
As an after thought, I remember my grandmother speaking of a half-sister, Laura and when I was younger and smaller I remember going with my dad and her to see this half sister in Alabama if my memory serves me correctly. Therefore, I believe Pamelia to be his second wife since there was about sixteen years difference in their ages.
